News: First Bamboo Crash Barrier on NH-930

On 3 March 2023, BSU India installed 200 m of Kooch Kavach bamboo crash barrier on NH-930 between Wani and Warora in Maharashtra, under NHAI's Chandrapur project unit.

The Times of India reported the installation on 4 March 2023 under the headline "World's 1st bamboo crash barrier on Wani-Warora Road in Maharashtra". The report credited the idea to Union Minister Nitin Gadkari and named Ganesh Verma of Bhavya Srishti Udyog Pvt. Ltd., Bemetara, Chhattisgarh, as the maker.

Three months later, NHAI's report recorded no weathering and no theft, and no maintenance need during the observation period. The full account is in Wani to Warora, and the wider story is in the Kooch Kavach story.
