The BSU India Bamboo Tower is a 140-foot engineered bamboo structure and the world's tallest bamboo tower, certified by the Golden Book of World Records. Designed, fabricated, and erected at BSU India's Chhattisgarh facility, the tower demonstrates the structural capabilities of engineered bamboo at full scale.
Constructed using VPI-treated, HDPE-coated Bambusa Balcooa — the same material system used across the Bahu-Balli product family — the tower is engineered with a 25-year minimum design lifespan. Its modular, section-based structural system enables the construction methodology to be adapted for observation towers, landmark structures, signage gantries, and elevated infrastructure across a variety of deployment environments. The project serves as a live demonstration of engineered bamboo's potential for large-scale structural applications and is available for technical visits by procurement teams, consultants, institutions, and international delegations.

Tourism, forest operations, civic landmarks, and green infrastructure.
Landmark towers at eco-tourism destinations, nature parks, and heritage sites · Viewpoint and observation towers at scenic overlooks, hilltops, and coastal locations · Architectural focal points for agri-tourism, farm stays, and rural hospitality developments · Watchtowers, signage gantries, and welcome structures at trekking and eco-camp entry points
Anti-poaching and wildlife monitoring towers for forest departments and wildlife sanctuaries · Fire lookout towers for forest fire detection and monitoring operations · Elevated observation decks at wildlife reserve buffer zones and migratory corridors
Flag towers — freestanding bamboo flag masts for government institutions, public plazas, and ceremonial venues · Ceremonial and event towers for national celebrations, state events, and public gatherings · Landmark structures at university campuses, agricultural colleges, and research institutions
Highway signage gantries for green highway corridors · Solar mast towers for elevated solar installations in remote locations · Telecom and communication mast support structures in forested and eco-sensitive regions
The Bamboo Tower is constructed using the Bahu-Balli engineered bamboo structural system, incorporating VPI-treated and HDPE-coated Bambusa Balcooa members designed for long-term outdoor deployment. The tower's successful execution at 140 feet provides a full-scale demonstration of the structural performance, durability, and scalability of engineered bamboo infrastructure.
The Bamboo Tower demonstrates how large-scale vertical infrastructure can be delivered using a renewable, rapidly regenerating material without compromising structural ambition. By utilising engineered bamboo in place of conventional structural materials, the tower significantly reduces embodied carbon while maintaining long-term durability and functionality.
For government agencies, tourism developers, forest departments, institutions, and infrastructure planners, it provides a proven example of how engineered bamboo can be applied to landmark projects that combine visibility, performance, and environmental responsibility.
